I been playing PM a while now. Mostly on Drale but trying out different areas as its getting pretty stale there.
I'm finding it really difficult to find anywhere else to go as the summons seems to get dispelled really too easily, often happens going into the first fight from rest/buff which takes ages to do. I tried isle of ice area, Trighton and Coj on the way to Golems. Havent been to grubs recently and there are loads of casters there and did ok there. I notice now that the Rhas PM summons get undominated more easily and i dont know how its happening. He didnt get dispelled as i can see all the buffs there and MB is still active.
I dont know if its a bug or some caster did something or there was some update that changed things.
When he gets undominated he turns on you if you get too close and wont follow any more.
The other Rha has a different problem where he doesnt want to fight initially and you have to wait for him to wake up which usually takes a few fights for that to happen.
I'm thinking of recording some game play and keeping a log as its really not fun any more after spending so much time buffing for them to instantly get dispelled and made useless.

I just tried again to go from Inner gate to Golem area. Same thing happened. I crossed the bridge and into the new caster golems.
Instantly the archers got dispelled. Few seconds later the rha summon got undominated. So i turn around and run back to the kobald with one rha following me.
Pretty pointless trying to go to new Golem area. More than happy to do a short video.

I haven't changed anything with AI.
The only thing that maybe could have made a difference, was deleting unused resources to free up resources, but 820c is still using more resources than the last version of 819.
In making the PM summon changes, I was testing different PM chars out and then ran into the dispell problem. I was all excited about making a PM too until this occurred. I am pretty sure I had this on the list of things to improve and it didn't get many votes, if I remember this right.

I didn't notice any changes. As a hint, the ape archer seems way more happy with being dominated than the rhas summon. Especially when you can buff the rhas summon (3rd in pipeline) more for more viability, since you cannot invis the dominated pet or it will not properly attack anytime soon. If I remember it correctly, it has been this way for years and was already happening to dominated axe barbs in trighton which didn't attack anymore after you cast invis on them. If you spawn two archers, dominate, then spawn two melees (or in your case melee and another archer) you should be fine for new golem areas. Buff electric flame for the rhas and lightning mestil sheaths. By the way, I am not going there with my archer PM (which is for darkmore) but with my EDR III high wiz high saves monk PM that has a couple (7 or so) maxed ice storms booked for 66+ per hit ice crowd damage.
Remember, ice storm does not rely on caster levels for spell penetration any more. This was a Rakshasa fix I think.

I've had the same difficulty with pale masters. Two things could be happening. 1 is banishment or dismissal, which also works against blackguard summons. Maybe word of faith too I don't recall. Lots of casters endgame have these spells, and nothing besides will or spell resistamce blocks it really. So it can just happen and then bam, summon is gone. There is also another issue with blackguard summons in that I think because it's some weird combo of a feat/spell it becomes lesser planar binding and can be dispelled some reason that is beyond me. But yeah that has also been established as well, I just don't remember what the details or possible solutions were. 2 is pale master summons that are dominated being dispelled. It can happen with all of them because I think the domination affect is dispellable, and then that dommed unit goes into some weird ai mode. Last poll I definitely said something about that because it happened so many times with me I just stopped dominating undead especially in a party. Since there are so many dispels endgame. Chree made summons - besides the weird bg feat/spell thing - undispellable in that if the caster is targeted the summon 9 etc won't be dispelled causing the summon to go away. But, that doesn't actually mean the actual summons are immune to the entire dispel thing.
There are a few ways to handle this, but some might involve details about the scripts and spells etc which might need to be tested, because the blackguard feat should've been made undispellable from what Chree told me but it isn't. Maybe something else happened, but there are some deeper detail ways that maybe can happen, or there are some different blanket ways to address it. One might be to make the pale master summons henchman in the code instead of dominated. I've talked with Chree about that a while ago now. Another - which might be the most simple at this point - would be to give the pale master summons some piece of equipment with immunity to mords & dispels, so they just don't get anything removed. That would boost them a bit, but it's better than having them turn on you completely. As well, the equipment could be made immune to banishment & dismissal. Maybe the summons can be lowered if desired because they'd be immune to mords after that if it happens. But yeah it is a thing. Rij's plan is the best in the current thing, simply because the archer is farther away than the melee so it is less likely to get dispelled. I have had rogue archers happen though so it isn't foolproof. It is part of the pale master class though, so it does seem like it should be made to work differently. But really it's just that the domination effect can be dispelled, and that there are so many dispels across all endgame.

Wait, is the onhit thingy for some golems (that always does nothing/never does anything) maybe dismissal?
Edit: [personal] stupid intensifies
Edit 2: Hey, wait! if you guys didn't know this, and I figured it out, without ever having a summon ..
Edit 3: I am the Buddha

Ill give it a go with not using two Rhas, and change the order of the summons and keep well back but its a pity to have to change play style and only be able to play half way across the map. Some places you have no choice but to walk forward, or the map is so small so i think it will be hard to do.
Maybe there is a simple way to balance the summons with spell resistance that makes it less likely but still possible for the dispell or banishment to happen? Or their will save or something they need is brought to a point where they have a chance to make the save.
Well i dont know exactly, the delving into the scripts sound like it would take some time but maybe there is an easy fix thats worth trying first.

I would rather make improvements to where everyone agrees that they are needed. Just because I didn't like something or I don't agree with it, like this or say Dragon Shape being weak or Turn Undead is almost useless, etc., I don't think I need to go changing it automatically. I may have done that before with something else, but I don't think I should be doing that, unless it truly stands out as a bug or everyone agrees. But with it being on a poll, and it not getting many votes, I am thinking some people might be like, no that is the way it is suppose to be, you are suppose to have weak dragons, not make a Turn Undead toon and creatures should be able to dispell your dominated pets. This 3 things don't really matter to be if they are fixed, improved or whatever, but I would prefer before changing it that the majority feels it to be best to do so and not the other way around. I might need to do another poll, since how I kind of gave up on the whole Monk weapon thing or get back to EE. Also at this point, I don't know if it has gotten worse, it is just bad luck or if it is all the same as it always has been.

I don't wish to assume anything about anyone, but an issue with the idea of changes based on expressed opinions is the possibility of disagreement by fact of not engaging with the propositions.
While I suppose we all may be better off if we'd all be entirely Aristotelian "marketplace democrats", engaging with every idea presented, I've personally left many suggestions uncommented simply because I think they're not worth further discussion. In fact, it has gone so far that I'll even just skim texts if they're presented by certain authors. And as has been suggested by certain, current presidents, not actively objecting implies consent. While that may often be the case, it is not necessarily so.
In a polysci-nutcase, they tend to say that if you're sticking to business-as-usual, and people aren't objecting, it's assumed that people agree. Say, actively asking every voter as to whether or not .. roads should be a thing, would, by many be assumed to be a waste of time for elected officials, and a poor use of their time.
But if someone proposes veering off, altering the situation as is, say, abolishing roads all together, it'd require active support.
So, as an example, say we all agree that dragons are rubbish (which they are), but no one cares enough to make a big deal about it, it's entirely reasonable that the matter is dropped. And while it might be great if we could deal with every potential situation, time constraints aren't irrelevant (though this is something of a pitfall excuse, often applied as a "hail Mary" in cases where easy easy fixes are available - (cough) trash bin in Darkmoor shrine).
Quite often, many of these suggestions may come from very active, outspoken people, so it'll have been heard by almost everyone, many times over. Unfortunately, conflating frequency of propositions with general adherence or support is a not-too-infrequent issue.

I'm happy to play other chars and would prefer EE gets all the dev time.
When the dust settles then looking at balance and variety of chars is what DM does, and for a power levelling server game balance is probably more important than pretty graphics or cool new maps that many cant play on.

While I was very pleasantly surprised by the recent golems update (and I like it very much) I cannot wait for EE either. If the dark bug is still in EE I might rage quit for a couple days but for sure I will be back.
